Since 2009, we’ve been welcoming guests to three special lodges across Rwanda. Each one sits in its own stunning spot, but they all share the same promise: comfort, care, and a deep respect for the natural world around them. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge Peace at the Foot of the Virungas
Tucked at the base of Sabyinyo Mountain in Kinigi-Musanze, this lodge sits right in the heart of the Volcanoes National Park area. The drive from Kigali takes about two and a half hours, and when you arrive, you’re greeted by beautifully landscaped gardens full of flowers and natural greenery. The air feels fresh and cool, especially at night.
You’ll stay in one of 25 cozy cottages perfect for singles, couples, families, or small groups. Every cottage comes with a private bathroom, coffee maker, work desk, and often a balcony where you can watch the mountains in the morning mist. It’s the ideal base for gorilla trekking, but even if you just want to sit quietly with a book, the peaceful setting makes it easy to forget the outside world.
Guests often say the lodge feels like a hidden sanctuary. With a restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus a bar for evening drinks, everything you need is right there.
Akagera Safari Camp Wildlife Views and Pure Tranquility
Located just outside Akagera National Park in Kayonza District, this camp offers something truly special: sweeping views over the park and Lake Ihema. Your cottage looks straight out onto the wild landscape, with private balconies perfect for spotting animals or simply enjoying the sunset.
The camp has 29 spacious cottages plus one exclusive family cottage. Inside, you get all the comforts luxury bedding, Wi-Fi, TV, mini-bar, and a coffee maker that makes waking up easy. Outside, an outdoor cascading swimming pool seems to blend into the park view. It’s a place where nature and relaxation come together effortlessly.
From here, you can head out for game drives, boat rides on the lake, bird watching, or even a hot air balloon ride. But many guests choose to stay put, relaxing by the pool or taking gentle nature walks on the private land surrounded by coffee and banana plantations. It truly feels like your own peaceful corner of the African bush.
Kivu Lodge Lake Views and Gentle Waves
Perched on a small peninsula that reaches into the calm waters of Lake Kivu, this lodge in Karongi District feels like a private retreat. The water sparkles right in front of your cottage, and the surrounding coffee plantation adds a fresh, green touch to the scenery.
With 20 spacious cottages (including two executive suites), each one offers stunning lake views from a private balcony. Inside, you’ll find the same thoughtful details: comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and everything you need to feel at home. The outdoor swimming pool seems to float above the lake, making it a favorite spot for guests.
Days here move at a slower pace. Enjoy a swim, take a sunset cruise on our boat (with dinner or cocktails if you like), visit nearby coffee plantations for a tasting, or simply watch the water from your balcony. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and gentle adventure.
